Koramangala ! Would there be anyone in Bengaluru who wouldn’t have heard the name? We all know that this area is meant for the pubs and eateries around. Each and every place around here would have its own USP and unique way to host the crowd, One such place could easily be TILT that could be a perfect spot to spend a great evening with friends.
On entering you would find the lit floors that change colors along your walkway with tables on either sides and this gesture would pull you into the weekend mood instantaneously, On reaching inside you would find the entire floor lit with changing colors and that would surely turn the party mode on for the evening. There are various seating options exterior and interior depending on the group size, If you prefer comfort, then the mezzanine floor would be the best option as its has the sofa seating with a bird’s eye view of the dance floor.
Coming to the food and beverages,
We started with the cocktails, “Jack went crazy” was the first one to arrive which was a combination of JD, Blackberry liqueur, blackberry puree and lime juice and served with a black berry on top in a classic whisky glass.
It was my first whisky based cocktail in a fruit base, Was blended really well to highlight the fruity flavor and Jack’s dominance. The on the rocks serving gave it more of a sophisticated feel. It was surely one of the best drink of the event.
And a pic of the Jacks who went crazy that evening.
Next was the pornstar martini, made of vodka, passion fruit and vanilla gomme and served in a martini glass decorated with a slice star fruit (Carambola), Simple yet well prepared and the flavor of the passion fruit and the vodka were nicely balanced.
Another cocktail for the evening was the cranberry and mint lemonade, This one tasted like a fruity twist to the classic mojito, And was served with a cranberry popsicle. It was a visual delight.
“I M blue” was next, It was a tequila based cocktail in a concoction of pineapple, coconut, blue curacao and lime juice . The look of it gives you a typical Caribbean holiday feel and this one had a strong hint of coconut in it.
Coming to the food,
Not much of options for the vegetarians when it comes to the starters, We just had the golden fried baby corn in chilly garlic dip. The baby corn fritters were well presented and the dip was perfectly spiced.
Initially we were disappointed to see only one veg starter on the menu and had to convey it to the chef, For which he immediately served another one which was not a part of the menu for the evening in a really short amount of time. Well, It was the gobi Manchurian and the best part is that it was well prepared and served elegantly.
For the main course, I had the penne arabiata and the cottage cheese steak served with herbed rice and veggies.
The pasta was simple and neat, The garlic bread served was still warm and soft and the cottage cheese steak was a tummy filler after all the cocktails that went in ! The gravy that was served with the cottage cheese steak a highlight for me as it went well with the rice.
Last but not least the desserts,
The tiramisu. One of my favorite desserts. This one had more of the cheesy content and less of the coffee liqueur dipped sponge cake, An equal ratio would have done the trick.
The apple pie, Served with whipped cream and coffee liqueur.
The pie was generously stuffed with dry fruits, The overall taste was a hit and it was the perfect dish to end the evening.
To sum it up, It was a great evening with fellow foodies and great food. The staff was pretty attentive and were constantly checking if we needed a repeat. After all the food and drink we even danced to the bollywood tunes on that colourful dance floor.
Certainly worth a try if one would like to spend a great evening with friends.
